Chinese sports media outlet Titan24 estimated that last year Liu Xiang earned some US$1.94 million, largely through endorsement deals with the likes of Coca-Cola, Amwa, Cadillac, Visa and China Mobile.
As London 2012 approaches, Liu Xiang is coming back into form – comfortably winning gold at the Asian Games in Guangdong last year – and will be looking to win the gold that eluded him in Beijing. Expect to see interest in Liu Xiang ramp up again this year as Nike build their Olympic marketing efforts around him in a country the brand is desperate to crack. SportsPro
